ANNE BONNY - Listed with MARY READ - - - 2 of the MOST FEROCIOUS EVER!!!
Anne was Irish-born
@ 16 she fell in LOVE with a sea captain, and they
eloped to New Providence (Bahamas). There she disguised herself as a
man, and ran away with Captain Jack Rackham (A.K.A. "Calico Jack").
While there she met Mary Read, who decided to join Captain Jack's
Rackham's crew.
+++++++++
&
Mary Read was London-born - late 17th Century.
To secure an inheritance, she was disguised as a boy all her pre-teen life. This created a liking for men's clothes.
As a teen she joined the navy, fell in Love with a
soldier, and married him. After his death she boarded a West
Indies-bound ship wearing men's clothes once again. While on board, the
ship was attacked by Captain Jack Rackham's ship. She decided to join
his crew, and she met Anne Bonny.
While part of Captain Jack Rackham's crew, they together:
They became close friends. &
Earned a reputation for being "more ferocious than the men"!!!
When Captain Jack Rackham was eventually caught, they were revealed to be women. And they were brought to trial with him.
They were ALL condemned to hang. Anne & Mary pleaded pregnancy, and were imprisoned.
Anne disappeared - possible freedom due to her father's influencial help.
Mary died in 1720 of a fever, while still in prison.
It did not say for sure which happened first between Anne & Mary (in 1720).

CHARLOTTE DE BERRY (A.K.A. Captain Rodolph)
WANTED FOR: Beheading a Captain.
Last Seen: Post violent storm: Adrift - possibly towards Ghana.
Appearance & Manner:

1636 - England-born
1654 Active piracy along African coast.
@ 18 she disguised herself as a man, to accompany a sailor she fell in Love with.
They fought together in 6 battles, until an
officer on board became jealousy, and had the sailor she loved flogged
to Death!!! For he had recognized her as a women, and fallen in love
with her himself.
Once returned to port:
Charlotte waited for the officer in a dark alley with her 2 pistols ready. She killed him, and took his money.
Worked in the Waterfront taverns that sailors
frequented - as an entertainer. There she let one sailor "carried her
off to sea" with him. They were attacked by pirates!!! & Here is
where she cut off the Captain's head, but after engaging him.
After this:
Due to such adoration from crew, she was elected LEADER. She then took the name "Captain Rodolph, Charlotte".
Led African coast raids. Their prey: Gold-laden trade ships.
Eventually:
A
wealthy Spaniard joined their crew, and she married him. A violent
storm wrecked their ship and set survivors adrift on a raft for days.
Once food ran out, cannibalism became MANDATORY.
They saw it as 'who was eaten to save the rest', and they drew straws.
She was horrified to find, that it was her husband. His dead body was
sliced & divided among the crew.
Soon after they were rescued, but then were
attacked by pirates. After helping in the fight, she jumped overboard
to be with her husband in Death.
